The platform

Hiotera is designed to improve the quality and productivity of the crops, as well as to optimize water and fertilizers consumptions. To achieve this, the system will analyse the data collected through sensors, and will control the greenhouse actuating systems to maintain the most optimal conditions for the crop.

Main Features

Climate Control

The system will work to maintain the optimal conditions for the crop, taking into consideration the following factors among others:

  • Number of air renewals required.
  • Growing cycle of the crop.
  • Optimal temperature and humidity.
  • Ambient conditions inside and outside of the greenhouse ( temperature, humidity, radiation, etc…).
  • Weather forecast.
  • Ventilation, air conditioning and heating.
  • Measurement of air and soil temperature and humidity, radiation, wind speed and direction, precipitation.
  • Automatic and/or remote control of automated zenithal windows, side bands, air conditioning and heating systems, automatic screens…
  • Alarm system that will notify any anomaly, risk or event or action considered relevant for the user.
  • Monitor and Control irrigation and fertigation system from the mobile app or the cloud.
  • Program an irrigation and fertigation schedule as per your needs, or let the system work in an automatic mode based on the needs of crops.
  • At any moment, the system can initiate an irrigation and fertigation program from the mobile app or cloud.
  • The installed sensors will allow the system know the water needs of your crop: soil moisture, electrical conductivity, tensiometers…
  • Water optimization: the system will avoid any excessive use of water.
  • Alarm system that will notify any anomaly, risk or event or action considered relevant for the user

Irrigation and Fertigation System

The system will work to maintain the optimal conditions for the crop, taking into consideration the following factors among others:
  • Sowing date.
  • Growing cycle of the crop.
  • Optimal soil conditions (moisture and electrical conductivity).
  • Ambient conditions inside and outside of the greenhouse (temperature, humidity, radiation, etc…).
  • Plant stress.
  • Irrigation water properties.
  • Weather forecast.

Operating Modes

Manual

Data collection through sensors. The user will decide how to operate any system through the mobile app or cloud platform.

Semiautomatic

Data collection through the sensors. The user will decide how to operate any of the systems through the mobile app or cloud, but will be receiving recommendations based on our agronomic algorithm, that can be accepted or declined. When a recommendation is accepted, the system will automatically implement an action (i.e. activate an irrigation and fertigation program, open/close windows…)

Automatic

Data collection through the sensors. The system will operate the greenhouse based on our agronomic algorithm, to maintain the optimal conditions. In all cases, the user will be able to control manually any subsystem at any moment.
